AFS-USA, an intercultural learning organization, has piloted an innovative, digital, global learning tool for teachers and students called Culture Trek. We would like to demo this platform with educators for feedback at the 2015 OPPI Festival. Culture Trek is designed to be a blended learning curriculum. As such, the four classroom lessons, What is Culture, Describing Culture, Comparing Cultures and Cultural Adjustment, are designed to complement and build off of the international education topics covered in the online portion of the program. Culture Trek is relevant to teachers and students, especially given its emphasis on promoting mutual understanding between different cultures, both in and out of the classroom. The lesson plans have also been designed to support 21st Century Skills, the Common Core State Standards as well as AFS’ Learning Objectives, which were developed to provide intercultural learning experiences for students in the global, cultural, interpersonal and personal realms.

      Hi Tonya,
Thanks so much for the message! I’m afraid that we’re not able to add additional content to the Oppi programme at this stage- although Culture Trek sounds brilliant! I hope you are able to come and participate! We can of course discuss you contributing at the next event!
